Tourism Industry to Create over 70,000 jobs

The Minister of state for Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities Hon Geoffrey Kiwanda has Tuesday reported that the Ministry will make more than 70,000 employments this year alone.

Hon Kiwanda included that this will lessen unemployment furthermore increase on the efficiency of the people henceforth more economic development for the nation.

“We will make more than 70,000 jobs which will help increase job in Uganda. 2017 is the year of tourism,” he said.

At present the Tourism industry only contributes fewer than 4% of the jobs meaning around 247,000 jobs.

While speaking to the press at the Uganda Media Center, the Minister Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities Ephraim Kamuntu highlighted Uganda’s tourism potential, “considering its growingly empowering environment.”

He said by 2020 they need the Ministry to acquire more than 4million people contrasted with the 1.5 million they got a year ago.
